The Future of The Jo
The THRIVE Scholarship Program
Beginning in the fall of 2024, we are thrilled to offer a brand new scholarship initiative to benefit incoming Josephinum Academy students. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donor community, the THRIVE Scholarship will cover 100% of tuition for up to 40 incoming freshmen.
“Sometimes, students and families don’t think private education is accessible to them,” Katie Bartholomew, Head of Admissions, explained. “We wanted to remove that obstacle and show that we are an available choice. We want students to be able to discover us and come to our school—and relieve the pressure that comes from tuition.”
The THRIVE initiative extends beyond a one-time scholarship—it is designed to foster even more community and participation at Josephinum Academy.
As part of the program, students commit to THRIVE:
Tenacious
Demonstrate a dedication and respect for intellectual values and academic integrity.
Heart
Display a social awareness that impels to action by completing student service hours in assistance to Josephinum Academy of the Sacred Heart during the school year.
Resourceful
Take initiative by utilizing opportunities available at Josephinum. Participate in events, clubs, and activities, as well as mentorships, networking, and internships, as these opportunities become available and students become eligible.
Inclusive
Exemplify a commitment to building community by exhibiting a positive and kind presence in school.
Vibrant
Engage in positive attendance habits, and maintain good behavioral standing.
Empowered
Exhibit a dedication to personal growth by goal-setting, and challenging themselves to grow as future leaders, changemakers, and visionaries.
Parents and guardians also commit to the program, agreeing that their child will take part in Josephinum events and opportunities, participating in at least two family fundraisers, and joining the Josephinum Parent Organization.
“My hope is that girls and families are joyful about coming into this community,” Katie explained. “Once you have the freedom to come without the stress of tuition, hopefully you can just enjoy what you’re doing. Our families work so hard to get their students here, so if there’s a way we can help, we want to.”
